QSFP+ is short for Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus. It is a compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used for data communications applications. The form factor and electrical interface are specified by a multi-source agreement (MSA) under the auspices of the Small Form Factor Committee. It interfaces networking hardware (such as servers and switches) to a fiber optic cable or active or passive electrical copper connection. It is an industry format jointly developed and supported by many network component vendors, allowing data rates from 4×1 Gb/s for QSFP and 4×10 Gbit/s for QSFP+ and to the highest rate of 4×28 Gbit/s known as QSFP28 used for 100 Gbit/s links.
What kind of 40G transceivers and cables are available from TARLUZ?
TARLUZ supports a full range of both copper cables and optical transceivers for 40GbE, compliant to the IEEE standards. For copper both QSFP+ to QSFP+ (40G to 40G) and QSFP+ to SFP+ (40G to 4x10G) cables enable short reach options; For optical both QSFP+ to QSFP+ (40G to 40G) and QSFP+ to SFP+ (40G to 4x10G) cables enable both short and long distance transmission. As for transceivers, the transmission distance up to 40KM.
What kind of 40G DAC Cables are available from TARLUZ?
1. QSFP to QSFP direct attach passive copper cable which is available in 1/2/3/5 meters: One end of QSFP cable plugs into the QSFP port on adapter while the other end plugs into the QSFP port on the switch or other devices which is configured for 10 GbE speed.
2. QSFP copper breakout cable, which is available in 1/3/5 meters: The QSFP end of the cable plugs into the top QSFP port on the adapter while the four pigtails can plug into four different 10G SFP+ ports on the switch or other devices.
What kind of 40G AOC Cables are available from TARLUZ?
1. TARLUZ QSFP Active optical cable is available in 1/2/3/5/10/20/50/100 meters. One end of the QSFP optical cable then connects to this QSFP transceiver on the adapter while the other end connects to a QSFP transceiver in a switch or other device which is configured for 40G speed.
2. The QSFP active optical breakout cable which is available in 10/20/50 meters. The QSFP breakout cable wiht one QSFP transceiver on the adapter while the four pigtails can connect to four different 10G SFP+ transceivers on the switch or other devices.
Where are these cable assemblies used?
These are “point-to-point” cables that are used to directly connect two pieces of active network equipment like switch-to-switch or switch-to-server applications. They are most commonly used in data centers for ToR (top of rack) or MoR (middle of rack) aka leaf-spine applications that require increased bandwidth.
Do these products support the 10G per lane data rate and for what standards?
Yes, up to 5 meters per current InfiniBand QDR standards and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-CR4.
Do these products support 14/16G per lane data rate?
Yes, up to 3 meters per current InfiniBand FDR standards.
Will these products support 25G per lane data rates?
Our current QSFP+ product will not support 25G per lane data rates. We currently offer QSFP28 interconnect per the Ethernet 100GBASE-CR4 specification.
